AE Design

Architecture and Engineering Design

Our in-house design team includes project managers, architects, and engineers who have experience and knowledge serving federal, state and local government entities as well as private sector clients. Our design experience encompasses a wide range of projects including:

  • New construction
  • Repurposing/renovating buildings
  • Assisting with planning and programming
  • Providing condition assessments and inspections

Well-designed buildings, bridges, and miscellaneous structures are of the combined efforts of the entire team, all working together to develop designs to meet and exceed the specific needs of each client.

GM HILL uses Building Information Modeling (BIM) to effectively visualize and communicate our design solutions from a project’s planning stages through construction administration.  We understand how to effectively manage project risks, develop innovative solutions, reduce cost, and accelerate design schedules – all while working in partnership with the client, contractor, and end users.  Our experience encompasses all forms of project delivery, including design-build, construction management at risk, and traditional design-bid-build arrangements.

Our architects provide excellent design services on renovations, additions, or new building projects of any scope, scale, or budget. We routinely lead and coordinate multi-discipline design teams on a wide variety of project types for a diverse group of clients throughout the United States. Our capabilities include providing:

  • Concept designs
  • Feasibility studies
  • Full design
  • Construction documents
  • Construction administration services
  • ADA reviews and upgrades
  • Peer design reviews
  • 3D renderings
  • Detailed cost estimates

Our structural engineers have the capability to analyze and design both conventional and unique structures made of wood, cast-in-place concrete, precast concrete, and steel. The types of facilities addressed by GM HILL engineers include multi-level buildings to waterfront marine and transportation structures and institutional, commercial and military buildings that are engineered to meet progressive collapse criteria, comply with the anti-terrorism force protection (ATFP) requirements and meet other unique sets of structural loading conditions.

We ensure our buildings can withstand the design parameters that vary by location, including soil types, seismic intensity, snow loading and wind resistance.  In addition, all Federal projects are managed by seasoned project managers who are knowledgeable of all DoD criteria and standards for planning, design, and construction.

Our team of LEED Accredited Professionals bring a successful track record of achieving LEED ratings on commercial and military design.
