For the third time in a row, GM HILL was awarded a three-year Architectural & Engineering Continuing Services Contract for Minor Projects. Since 2012, GM Hill has provided structural engineering services for the University of North Florida for minor projects; repair, alteration or new construction project with fees not to exceed $2 Million. Typical project types include the following services: investigations and studies, repairs and renovations to multiple facilities including classroom buildings, auditoriums, parking garages and administration offices. Projects performed include:
Building #2- Site inspection and report including recommendations for repairs to a corner column
Parking Garages 38 & 44 – Site inspections to identify deficient areas, provided a report of findings with recommendations for loose concrete, failing sealant joints, exposed steel reinforcement, damaged light pole base plates and other significant structural damage at both parking garages. Assisted with the contractor selection process, reviewed bids, and approved contractor pay requests. Performed Contract Administration services.
Adam’s Center – Performed analysis of existing roof structure to support new theatre spotlights. Provided details for hanging new fixtures. Assisted with the contractor selection process, reviewed bids, approved contractor pay requests and performed Contract Administration services.
Alumni Hall – Perform site inspections to evaluate the existing roof structure, performed analysis of existing roof structure to support new roof-mounted air handlers and provided details for attachment of new support structure to existing structure.
Campus-Wide Ladder Design- Performed calculations and provided plans and details for the installation of new exterior ladders for rooftop access for 14 buildings on campus.
Robinson Theater – Performed site inspections and structural analysis; and prepared a report of findings with details for the repair of concrete roofing spalls above the stage.
