FLORIDA A&M WARE-RHANEY BUILDING

GM HILL served as the Structural Engineer of Record for the design of a four-story, 58,000 square foot expansion and renovation to the Ware-Rhaney Building’s existing classroom and laboratory facility for FAMU, creating a state-of-the-art teaching/research facility for the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. The design consisted of a combination of composite steel construction, structural steel framing, and load-bearing concrete masonry walls. The lateral system utilized a combination of moment frames and shear walls. The buildings foundation system was designed as a mat foundation.
