As part of a Continuing Services Contract with Florida School for the Deaf and Blind, GM Hill provided structural engineering for renovations and new construction. Representative projects include:
Vaill Hall
The project consisted of renovation of an existing 25,000-SF, two-story dormitory originally constructed in 1966. Renovations included replacing an exterior steel exit stair with a new interior stair enclosure and new activity room. Renovation activities also included: complete re-roofing, exterior building repairs and waterproofing, replacing exterior doors and frames, replacing exterior the window system, and replacing mechanical equipment. GM HILL performed calculations, prepared design drawings and prepared specifications as part of the structural design of load-bearing concrete masonry walls, structural steel wide-flange beams, and steel bar joist with non-composite metal deck and concrete slab.
Construction costs: Approximately $1.6M.
Moore Hall
GM HILL provided structural engineering services as part of renovations to the exterior of a 30,000 SF two-story administration building originally constructed in 1948. Design included calculations, design drawing and specifications for the replacement of all exterior windows and doors; repair of exterior stucco and application of new exterior stucco weatherproof coating; and replacement of exterior sealants.
Construction costs: Approximately $650K.
New Golf Cart Pavilion
GM HILL provided structural engineering services for a new golf cart 906-SF covered golf cart parking pavilion designed to house 10 golf carts. Design included calculations, design drawing and specifications for all structural elements of the pavilion.
