1,088 SF Floating Dock and a 200 SF Gangway
The Harkers Island Visitor Center and administrative offices includes a 63-space parking lot for the visitor center, a day use picnic area with separate parking for up to 40 vehicles, and employee parking to the rear of the visitor center. The visitor center parking lot includes parking for up to 10 large recreational vehicles. The Harkers Island Visitor Center includes public restrooms, which are located adjacent to the boat basin. The visitor center parking lot is also immediately adjacent to the boat basin.
The 1,088 s.f floating dock and a 200 sf. gangway are attached to a fixed landing for ferry concession. The fixed landing, which will allow gangway to connect to the floating docks, is approximately 50 square feet. The floating dock system also includes 3 marine power and water service pedestals. A queuing shelter with water (combination drinking fountain/fill station/hose bibb) and power service for lighting will be approximately 450 square feet. The ticket office will be approximately 130 square feet and the porch will be approximately 900 square feet.
